The owner of a closed landfill in O’Fallon is facing a state lawsuit charging the landfill has been leaching contaminants into a nearby creek four of the last five years.
The lawsuit says the company also failed to submit quarterly discharge reports and did not renew its operating permit. The lawsuit wants a penalty of as much as $10,000Â for each day the dump has been out of compliance.
