A man who told police he thought he was attacking Governor Nixon when he stabbed a Kansas City college dean in the neck last fall is not mentally competent to stand trial.  Raytown resident Casey Brezik will be committed to the state mental health department until he is considered mentally fit to go to trial for assault and armed criminal action. The judge will reconsider his status in six months.

The stabbing took place shortly before Governor Nixon was to appear at Penn Valley Community College to discuss federal grants for high-speed internet projects. The wounded dean has recovered.
