A St. Charles County jury sympathizes with a teen-age girl who complained that she had suffered harassment via the Internet, but doesn’t convict the woman the girl accused as her tormentor.

Jurors have acquitted 41-year-old Elizabeth Thrasher of cyber-harassment, the first case believed to have gone to trial since the legislature approved anti-cyber harassment legislation in 2008. Jurors tell the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the state fell short of the evidence they needed to convict Thrasher who had posted information in a sexually suggestive Craigslist ad.
