Six outstanding former student-athletes have been selected for induction into the University of Missouri Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame . They will represent the 21st induction class since the inception of the Hall in 1990. 

Those in the Class of 2010 are:

Scott Anderson – Football (1971-73).  The Hannibal native was a standout center who won All-American honors in 1973 as a senior, and who helped the Tigers to consecutive appearances in the Fiesta Bowl and Sun Bowl.

Madill “Bud” Gartiser – Track & Field (1946-48).  He was from Webster Groves and won four conference hurdling championships for Mizzou, and at one time held the indoor world record for the 60-yard low hurdle event.

Lindsey Hunter – Volleyball (2002-05) is from Papillion, Nebraska and was voted by Tiger fans as the Mizzou Female Athlete of the Decade (2000-09), She was MU’s first ever 1st-Team volleyball All-American and was a three-time 1st-Team All-Big 12 pick.

Hank Kuhlmann – Football, Baseball, Football Coach (1956-58, 1963-71) is from Webster Groves and was a fixture around Tiger Athletics who excelled as an all-conference performer in football, was named to the College World Series All-Tournament team, and who coached during one of the most successful eras ever in MU football history.

Brad Smith – Football (2002-05) Smith is a native of Youngstown , Ohio .  He was named the Mizzou Male Athlete of the Decade (2000-09).  Smith brought winning football back to Mizzou, and did so with a flair that led to him owning 69 different MU, Big 12 and NCAA records.

Khris Whelan – Wrestling (1979-83) Whelan is from Granite City , Illinois and was Mizzou’s first-ever two-time All-American wrestler who won 97 matches and left holding the school record for career victories.

The induction dinner will be held Friday, Feb. 11th, at the Courtyard by Marriott in Columbia . A reception will begin at 6:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased by contacting Carly Northup in the Tiger Development Office, at (573) 884-6475. The class will be further honored during halftime ceremonies at the next day’s men’s basketball game, Feb. 12th against Oklahoma .

The current class will up the membership to 175 individuals and four teams in the Hall of Fame.  Inductees are honored in a display located in the main entrance at Mizzou Arena.
