The Cardinals complete their 40 man roster by signing a back up infielder.  Nick Punto spent the last seven seasons with the Minnesota Twins.  He signed a one year deal on Friday worth a reported 700 thousand dollars.

It is expected that Punto will be able to serve as a back up not only at third base, but also at second and short stop.  The Cards say he was signed for his glove and arm, not his bat.  Punto hit .238 last season.

In about a month the Cardinals will pack up and make the trip south to Jupiter, Florida for the start of Spring Training.  Tickets for those games will go on sale this morning at 9:00.  More information is available at the Cardinal website, stlcardinals.com.
