Jockeying is well underway at the national Republican National Committee meeting in Washington, where delegates are trying to pick a new national chairman. Missouri’s Ann Wagner has trailed through the first four rounds of voting and apparently has not been able to reach a deal with outgoing chairman Michael Steele, who has just thrown his support behind Marina Sino, a former GOP official from the Bush administration. Sino was second in the fourth round with 29 votes. Steele and Wagner had 28, down four from the third round.

The leader through all four rounds has been Wisconsin Republican chairman Reince Priebus, who has 58. He needs 85 but has gained only five votes in the last three rounds.

Wagner had met with Steele after the third round but could not reach a deal.
