Cape Girardeau’s city council meets later today to try to unsnarl a problem with a proposed smoking ordinance.
The council last Monday rejected putting the ordinance on the April ballot. But city officials say the city charter requires the petition-drafted ordinance to be voted on them if the council does not adopt the proposed ordinance.
