Blues lose shootout to Predators
Martin Erat tucked a shot under the crossbar during the fifth round of the shootout and Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne stopped all five shots he faced as the Predators beat the Blues 2-1.
T.J. Oshie scored his 12th goal of the year 13:40 into the first period to tie the game at 1-1 and each goalie played outstanding from that point on. Rinne stopped 35 of 36 shots and Blues goalie Jaroslav Halak made 33 saves on 34 shots.
Mizzou remains perfect
Marcus Denmon scored 17 of his 19 points after halftime and hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with just over a minute to play Friday night as the Tigers held off Old Dominion with a 75-68 victory.
Kim English added 16 points for the Tigers (13-0), Ricardo Ratliffe had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Phil Pressley scored 14 as Missouri continued its best start since opening 19-0 in 1981-82.
The Tigers, who came in second nationally shooting nearly 52 percent, were just 12 for 27 in the half and were outrebounded 20-15. They also missed seven of 15 free throws.
