Mega millions lottery approaches quarter billion

The mega-millions lottery is approaching the quarter-billion dollar mark.

The New Year’s eve drawing will be for $237 million dollars, potentially the second-largest jackpot in Missouri lottery history. The largest lottery pot won by a Missourian is a $258 million dollar Powerball jackpot last April.

Jefferson City woman linked to bank robbery

Police say they have found evidence in a Jefferson City woman’s car and her home linking her to a bank robbery Tuesday evening and to a credit union holdup last week.

Officers say Dwashan Thompson was driving a car that matched the description of a car used in Tuesday’s stickup at a drive-through window of the bank.

Senior citizens’ longterm needs ‘insecure’?

The State Securities Division says many investment companies do not have adequate plans for handling the longterm needs of senior citizens who place their life savings with those firms.

The division, which is part of the Secretary of State’s office, has reviewed six investment advisor firms and two dozen brokerage businesses.

The report says only about one-third of the companies surveyed have procedures to protect against elder abuse or financial exploitation by agents.

Mizzou hopes to “rebound” against Old Dominion

It’s always been the one knock against Mike Anderson’s Missouri Tigers. They’ve never really had a dominating rebounder, but when you play the type of game Anderson likes to play, the big beefy usually don’t fit well in his plans. However, Anderson preaches hard, gritty work for a full 40 minutes and they’ll need that tonight when the Tigers face Old Dominion at Mizzou Arena.

Seahawks look to backup QB, while Bradford has been reliable

History and the odds may be stacked in favor of the St. Louis Rams this Sunday night when they play the Seahawks in Seattle. No 7-9 has ever won the division and made the playoffs and if Seattle is going to be the first team to do so, they need to do it without their start quarterback.
