An appeal will be heard from a funeral home the state wants to shut down.

State officials revoked the license of Marts Memorial Services of Westport. The state accuses the home of inadequately refrigerating bodies, entering into pre-need funeral contracts without authorization and delivering the wrong ashes to a woman’s funeral mass.

Marts appealed. A Jackson County judge has stayed the revocation until a January 7th hearing can be held.
