Johnson County residence had the first crack at playoff tickets on Monday at 10 a.m., then the ticket offices at Arrowhead Stadium were open from 5-8 p.m. as hundreds of fans snaked through a long line for a shot at Wild Card round playoff tickets with the game being played at Arrowhead.
Head Coach Todd Haley said Sunday was a great day, not only for the Chiefs, but for the fans who have had to endure a lot of low points the last few years. The Chiefs have rebounded from a 4-12 season last year and have a chance to finish 11-5, which would be a plus-seven swing in the win column.

The Chiefs have three potential opponents for that first round playoff game and if I had to choose one of the three, I’d prefer to see the New York Jets.
The Jets backed into the playoffs after losing at Chicago and while they are 10-5, they have lost three of their last four and just barely held on to beat Pittsburgh which granted was a good road win for them. After an impressive win in week two of the season against New England, they were thrashed by the Patriots 45-3 in this latest slump. Outside of that and win at Pittsburgh, they have beaten Buffalo, Miami, Minnesota, Denver, Detroit, Cleveland, Houston and Cincinnati…all non-playoff teams.
Pittsburgh is tied with Baltimore for the AFC Central lead at 11-4. If the Steelers lost the Division and traveled to K.C., their playoff experience, ability to play well in cold weather and the fact that they are 6-1 on the road this year, tells me they would not come into Arrowhead intimidated. Plus, all four of their losses have come against playoff teams. Baltimore, New England, New Orleans and the Jets.
Baltimore is one of those silent teams that can sneak up on you. When you think Ravens, you think defense and running the football, but they are averaging 52 yards per game less on the ground then the Chiefs, but that defense is stout and they find a way to win games. Their not afraid of close ball games, where they have gone 2-1 in three overtime games this year and three of their four losses have come against playoff teams. New England, New Orleans and the Steelers.
