Even though the Chiefs have a playoff spot all wrapped up including a home game on January 8th or 9th, head coach Todd Haley says he plans on playing the starters this Sunday against Oakland.

At his press conference on Monday, Haley said, “We’re going to do what we think gives us the best chance to win.” I think it’s important that the Chiefs keep riding this high wave of emotion and enter the playoffs with a little momentum.

This will be a tough game, but a game where the Chiefs go into the playoffs flying high with confidence. Even if the Chiefs were to lose for the first time at Arrowhead, with their starters, Haley could use that as a nice wake-up call to his team.

Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star also brought up a good point about the importance of winning this game, because it would give the Chiefs the number three seed in the AFC and would hold off any potential meeting with New England until the AFC Championship game (if both teams advanced)
