Almost two months after the election, the state has officially certified the results of a state Senate race in the Suburban St. Louis area. Republican John Lamping originally secured his victory over Democrat Barbara Fraser by 133 votes. A recount narrowed that to 126 votes. There were more than 60,000 votes cast in the race.
