The Dannon yogurt company is giving Missouri $425,000 to settle this state’s part of a national lawsuit charging Dannon deceived consumers in marketing Activia yogurt and DanActive dairy drinks.
The lawsuit filed by the Federal Trade Commission and 39 states said Dannon deceived consumers by claiming its yogurt would regulate a person’s digestive system and that its dairy drinks would give consumers immunity with cold and flu prevention. In both instances, Dannon was accused of not having legitimate scientific substantiation.
