Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau hopes to start offering a degree in cyber security next fall. The state coordinating board for higher education has to approve the proposal. SEMO’s plan adds six courses in internet security to other courses in telecommunications, mathematics, and computer science to form the major.
The school says Missouri expects a 21% growth in the field by 2018.
