The number 11 Mizzou Tigers are back on the court this afternoon at the Mizzou Arena to take on an opponent they have never played before in their history.  Mizzou will play Presbyterian College out of South Carolina.

The 7-1 Tigers are coming off an amazing overtime win on Wednesday night against Vanderbilt.  The win allowed Mizzou to push its streak of consecutive wins at Mizzou Arena against non Big 12 opponents to 51.  A streak that dates back to 2005.

Marcus Denmon continues to play very well in his junior campaign. The Kansas City native has been one of the country’s best players and is averaging a team-best 17.0 points per game this year, boasted by an average of 22.3 points per game over his last three contests.

Denmon scored 21 points vs. Vanderbilt, including 19 points in the second half and overtime to lead MU to the win. Six of those points would come in overtime, including the game-winning steal, lay-up and foul with just five seconds remaining.

3-5 Presbyterian is no stranger to tight games.  The Blue Hose were in a one-possession game at Kansas State in the final minutes back on November 18th and have two road wins already at VMI and at Eastern Kentucky.

Presbyterian also played Vanderbilt earlier this season and lost by a final of 88-47.

The Tigers and the Blue Hose will tip off this afternoon at 4:00.
