The Missouri Tigers improved to 8-1 after handling the Presbyterian Blue Hose 70-55 Saturday evening at Mizzou Arena. The Tigers played all 12 off the bench and three players scored in double figures for a 52 consecutive non-conference win at home.

Kim English scored 14 to tie for top scoring honors thanks to 4 of 9 on three pointers including hitting his first three attempts. Justin Safford had 14 as well and Marcus Denmon with 12. Mizzou was 10 of 24 from three point range and shot 47% for the game.

The Tigers forced the Blue Hose into 19 turnovers, but they didn’t quit cutting a 26 point deficit to 15 in the final five and a half minutes.  Two players I was impressed with was Safford, who Head Coach Mike Anderson said he had a word with earlier today before the game and he just told Justin to play.  Anderson was impressed with his game and his ability to perform coming off the bench.

Phil Pressey looked more comfortable today.  He had been pressing of late, but let the game come to him and he finished with a game high nine assists.  Anderson had a great line in his Post game press conference on Pressey.

Mizzou returns to action Thursday night to take on Oral Roberts at 7 p.m. at Mizzou Arena.
