Kansas City police say it’s going to take at least three months for an officer injured in a traffic crash to recover from several broken bones and a bruised lung. The officer was a passenger in a squad car hit by a car driven by a man accused of being drunk.
The Jackson County prosecutor says the driver of the other car, Frank J. Ross III, had a blood-alcohol level that was double the legal limit for drunkenness.
