After a sluggish first set against Auburn, the Missouri State volleyball team battled toe-to toe with the Tigers before falling in three set by scores of 25-15, 26-24, 27-25 in the first match of the 2010 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship at the NU Coliseum in Lincoln, Neb.

The Bears closed the season at 21-10 with their sixth NCAA appearance since 2003, while Auburn improved to 21-12 in advancing to the second round.  The Bears finished the match hitting .098 to Auburn’s .231. Calli Norman led with eight kills on .238 hitting and four blocks. Cara Hackmann closed her illustrious career with 13 digs, her 101st career double-figure match. Thomas had 21 assists and two aces.
