After their 5-0 start, the Missouri Tigers are 9th in the AP poll and 8th in this week’s Coaches’ poll. Mizzou will now face their biggest challenge of the season when they take on the 16/14 Georgetown Hoyas.

G-Town comes into this game with a 6-0 record with their closest game being this past weekend against UNC-Asheville, a 10-point win. The Hoyas are led by Austin Freeman, a 6’3 guard, who is averaging 20 points a game and is a red hot 19 of 33 from beyond the three point line.

Julian Vaughn and Hollis Thompson are their big guys inside and the Hoyas bring three seniors and 6’10 junior center Henry Sims to the Sprint Center in Kansas City.

I’ll be looking at Mizzou tonight to see how they handle a big time program that brings experience to the floor. While the game will be played in Kansas City and it will have pro-Mizzou crowd, it is still away from Mizzou Arena. As head coach Mike Anderson says, it’s the next test on the Tigers’ schedule. A big test that will be interesting to see how the young Tigers react.
