Jackson County authorities have charged an 18-year-old man with killing the grandmother he lived with.
Tyler Toomay is charged with strangling 62-year-old Connie Searing. Toomay is being held in jail on $225,000 bond, scheduled for arraignment on Monday. Investigators say it appears a mundane family argument escalated into a brutal murder.
