The voters of the National League MVP Award got it right on Monday, when they voted Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds as the league’s MVP.

Votto took 31 of the 32 first place votes, with Joe Strauss, a writer for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, voting for Pujols. I don’t have much of a problem with Strauss doing that. It wasn’t like Pujols’ numbers were far off. In fact, both players made good cases, but Votto deserved the award based on the fact his Reds finished ahead of the Cardinals.
