For the first time since 2006 the Missouri Western football team is in the Division II National Playoffs. Western finished the season winning its last three games which included last weekend’s 48-21 victory over the Fort Hays State Tigers in Spratt Stadium. Western is the 6th seed in Super Region 4 and will take on the 3rd seed Northwest Missouri State in Maryville, Mo.
The Bearcats finished the season 9-1 overall and 9-0 in MIAA action. The Griffons will try and avenge a 42-0 loss earlier this season in Maryville, Mo. on October 2, 2010. The Griffons will also be trying to snap seven game losing skid against the Bearcats. This marks the first ever meeting between the two schools in post season play.
