A woman from Reeds Spring is in a Springfield hospital after she went down an embankment to avoid hitting a deer on OO Highway west of Kimberling City.

The Highway Patrol says Lisa Morrison’s pickup went down a 50 foot embankment. She was thrown from her pickup and was then pinned underneath it. A spokesman for the Southern Stone County Fire Protection District says it was the driver in front of Morrison who saw the accident in his rear view mirror, turned around and then called 911.
