The auction has begun for the unfinished home of U.S. Fidelis co-owner Darain Atkinson and the opening bid is $4.75 million.

U.S. Fidelis, once the nation’s largest extended warranty company, is in bankruptcy and Atkinson and his brother have been ordered to surrender most of their assets to settle a lawsuit that accuses them of looting the company.

The house, so far, has cost four times as much as the bid — $26.7-million dollars, and it’s not quite finished yet although it has a bowling alley, beauty salon, and an eight-car garage. Anybody who bids five-million dollars or more will qualify the actual auction starting Dec. 7.
