The new presiding commissioner of Worth County will never serve in that office. Kevin Austin has been elected although he died October 17th when a blood clot reached his lungs. He had been the only candidate on the ballot at the time. After his death, the current presiding commissioner and another man launched write-in campaigns.

Governor Nixon will appoint someone to take Austin’s role as presiding commissioner.
