Central Missouri, Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western all find themselves ranked in the top eight in the first release of the Super Regional rankings for Division II football.

The Griffons of Mo. Western are 6-3 and come into the initial rankings sixth. Northwest Missouri State, the defending national champions are fourth with a 7-1 record and Central Missouri is second with a 9-1 record.

The Mules of UCM are 9-0 in conference play and host their final game of the season against the NWMS Bearcats who are 7-1 in conference play and still have one more conference game after this weekend. The Bearcats have won 44 straight conference games and the Mules are looking for their first conference title since 1986. The top eight teams of the four Super Regionals advanced to the D-II football playoffs.
