Rams to honor Isaac Bruce this Sunday (AUDIO)

There have been some decent, actually very good players in their own right who have won #80 for the Rams organization, but none better than they guy who played on the only Super Bowl Champion and was a big part of the “Greatest Show on Turf.” On Sunday, Isaac Bruce will receive one of the greatest honors bestowed to a player. 80 will be retired along with Bruce’s name.

Eckersley calls e-mail a hoax, says he’s still in the race (AUDIO)

Southwest Missouri Congressional candidate Scott Eckersley blames the campaign staff of his Republican opponent for issuing a hoax that he had suspended his campaign.

An e-mail sent to news media outlets and a “tweet” issued by a fake Twitter account announced that Eckersley had suspended his campaign due to personal reasons. [Read more...]

Maylee charged with murder (AUDIO)

The Mid-Missouri Major Case Squad says 23-year-old Joshua Maylee has been served with arrest warrants for three counts of 1st degree murder, and one count of 1st degree assault. After setting off a 36-hour manhunt in Mid-Missouri, Maylee was apprehended “without incident” near Boonville, in Cooper County at around 1:30pm Thursday.

The manhunt for Maylee began after three people had been shot to death in rural Callaway County and one person was left wounded. The incident led to a lock-down at University Hospital in Columbia where the wounded person was being treated. Authorities worried the suspect would come to the hospital to finish what he had started. Numerous area schools were also on lock down Wednesday. [Read more...]

Amendment 3: ‘proactive’ or ‘unnecessary’? (AUDIO)

Missourians will vote to stop a tax next week that’s never even come close to being started.

Amendment 3 would establish a constitutional amendment that would prevent state or local governments from imposing a “transfer tax.” Follow this link to see the official ballot measure. The Association of Realtors is a major force behind the issue, and Missouri Association of Realtors President Elizabeth Mendenhall explains what a transfer tax would do.

“It’s a tax on a piece of property anytime it transfers from one person to another. It could be from a buyer to a seller, it could be from a builder to a developer, it could even be from a loved one to their heir. Many states have a transfer tax. Missouri currently does not, so this is a proactive measure,” Mendenhall said. [Read more...]

Ex-Royals DH/OF linked to HGH investigation

Everything is going right for the San Francisco Giants in the World Series up two games to none over Texas, but things may not be going right for Giants outfielder Jose Guillen.

The 34 year old outfielder who was traded from the Royals to the Giants in August, was left off the playoff roster by Giants manager Bruce Bochy because of a neck injury. Now Guillen has again been tied to performance-enhancing drugs. The New York Times reported that Guillen is linked to a federal investigation into shipments human growth hormones, allegedly sent to Guillen’s wife in the Bay Area.
