Shaun Hill threw for 227 yards and three touchdowns, plus Stefan Logan had a 105 yard kickoff return for a touchdown as the Detroit Lions picked up their first win of the season easily beating the Rams 44-3.

The Rams came out and attempted an onside kick at the start of the game and failed which led to a quick 3-0 lead for Detroit. Outside of Steven Jackson’s 114 yards on 25 carries, the Rams didn’t have much offensively. Sam Bradford played like a rookie, as the number one pick went 23 of 45 for 215 yards and two interceptions. One of those was deflected and grabbed by the number two overall pick Ndamukong Suh.

The Rams also lost another receiver when Mark Clayton went down with a right knee injury. Clayton came into the game as one of the NFC’s top receivers. He hurt his knee when he crumpled running down the sideline. He had to be carted off.

In a span of just over 20 minutes, Detroit scored 28 points including the kickoff return to start the second quarter after Josh Brown tied the game at 3-3. Brown would add another field goal in the second quarter to round out the Rams’ scoring.

The offensive numbers were pretty similar between the two teams, but special teams and turnovers helped lead Detroit to their biggest win since they blew out Jacksonville in 1995.
