The sexton of a city-owned cemetery in the southeast Missouri city of Jackson says it was a “little mistake.” But it wasn’t so little for the family of a four-year old girl killed in an accident last week. When they learned the girl had been buried in the wrong plot and would have to be exhumed and moved to another one, they set up a sit-in at her gravesite.
The woman who has owned the plot for 16 years has told the Cape Girardeau Southeast Missourian she doesn’t want to cause the girl’s family any more anguish. She says she’s working out things with the city
