St. Louis County authorities believe they have broken a car-theft ring that might have operated not only in the St. Louis area, but in other cities in Missouri as well as in several states. Two men and two women are being held, pending federal charges. Police arrested the four at Queeny Park, the result of a stake-out. Investigators say they found a GPS device in a rental car that had been programmed with numerous location of St. Louis-area gyms, parks, hotels and Bank of America branches. Some of the locations have been the sites of break-ins. A detective says the suspects confessed that they have hit numerous cities throughout the country.
