St. Louis area authorities are investigating whether an explosion at a home in south St. Louis has any connection with a murder at a Clayton law firm four years ago.

Two pipe bombs exploded Friday at the home of Beth and Thomas Boggs, sending shrapnel and flames across the yard, but hurting no one. Beth Boggs is managing partner at Boggs, Avellino, Lach and Boggs. In 2006, a lawyer at the firm, Ernest Brasier, was found dead at his desk from a small bullet wound to the head.

An investigator has told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch he believes the murder and bombing are related.
