The former city clerk of the southwest Missouri town of Alba says she stole about $80,000 dollars from the town. Ex-clerk Heather Baugh has pleaded guilty to a stealing charge and will be sentenced in November. Her plea deal will send her to prison for a maximum of seven years. If she’d gone to trial she could have been sentenced to 15 years in prison. She has to pay $50,000 in restitution.
She wrote checks to herself and used the city credit cards without authorization.
