City councilmembers in Kansas City are trying to decide whether 320 new employees will get full pension benefits.
Several city organizations have urged the council to deny full pensions to the former employees of the Metropolitan Ambulance Services Trust, who now have become city employees. The organizations say the city cannot afford the $30-to-40 million pricetag for extending full pension benefits.
