The Cardinals and Royals are amongst a handful of MLB teams who will open their baseball season on Thursday, March 31st when the Royals will host the Los Angeles Angels and the Cardinals will host San Diego. The move to start games early on a Thursday and end the season earlier is so baseball can finish the World Series in October.

Among the Royals’ highlights will be the traditional Interleague series against the Cardinals in Kansas City, on the weekend of May 20-22. Back on the schedule next year will be a Royals visit to St. Louis, also on a weekend, June 17-19. Arizona and the Chicago Cubs will also come to K.C. from June 21-26.

The Cardinals will play the Orioles in Baltimore, June 28-30 and then onto the Rays in Tampa from July 1-3. In addition the home and home with the Royals, the Cardinals will also host Toronto. The Cardinals will play the Cubs 15 times and face the Phillies nine, the most of any team outside the Central Division.
