A quarter century after a Springfield woman’s murder, a man considered a suspect then is going on trial. The trial is starting today for Gerald Carnahan, accused of murdering Jackie Johns in 1985.
The trial will take place in Clayton because of extensive publicity about the case in Springfield. Investigators reopened the case three years ago. Some DNA evidence was found linking Carnahan to the case.
