The Minnesota Twins have Zack Greinke’s number. For some reason, dating back to his last start of the season in 2009 when he made his case for the Cy Young on national television, Greinke hasn’t been able to beat the Twins.

Wednesday night the Royals rallied with two runs in the ninth, but fell short losing 4-3. Greinke is 0-4 with an ERA of 8.18 this season against the Twins. He allowed four runs and five hits with four strikeouts and three walks in eight innings.

J.J. Hardy homered and Denard Span hit a two run triple off of Greinke as the Twins opened a 5.5 game lead over Chicago for the AL Central Division.
