About half of the 400 hourly workers at the American Airlines repair base in Kansas City have decided to retire. The Kansas City Star reports the other half can move to other American Airlines maintenance bases when the one at Kansas City International Airport closes on the 24th. Most are likely to transfer to the base at Dallas although some could go to bases in St. Louis or Tulsa.
