Forty-five years later, federal authorities join the investigation into the disappearance of a toddler from her Cape Girardeau home.

A detective with the Cape Girardeau Police Department says there is a possible break into the case of Elizabeth Ann Gill, who was last seen playing in her front yard. She was two years old.

The detective says police could never find some transients staying in a motel close to the home who they considered persons of interest. They now believe they have located members of that family. They are out of state, so local police have asked the FBI to help.
