While high school football starts tonight across Missouri, Buffalo High School, near Springfield, will play without a head coach. The school board accepted the resignation of coach Ed Hula after 15 players quit the team to protest Hula’s dismissal of another teammate who was helping his sick grandmother.

Hula, who is also head wrestling and weight room coach, will remain with the district through the remainder of the school year as a teacher.
