Owners of strip-clubs and adult bookstores are asking a Jefferson City judge to block a new law regulating their businesses from going into effect tomorrow.
They have made their case for a temporary restraining order before Cole County Circuit Judge Jon Beetem, arguing that the law should be put on hold while a court decides whether it meets constitutional muster. The adult entertainment business argues that the bill violates its First Amendment rights to free speech.
