I think the Royals left their bats back in Kansas City. Detroit starter Rick Porcello pitched seven shutout innings and got plenty of offense as the Royals lost 9-1.
Royals starter Kyle Davies was tagged for seven earned runs on 12 hits and three walks in 4.2 innings. Kila Ka’ahiue broke up the shut out with a solo homer in the 9th. The Royals managed just three hits the whole night. They’ve been outscored 21-4 in the first two games of this series.
Since there is not much to say about the Royals…I’ll add that former Royal Johnny Damon turned down a trade to the Red Sox after they claimed him off waivers. He had a no-trade clause in his contract. Many thought the Sox claimed Damon to block him from going to Tampa or New York.
