Kyle Davies pitched shutout baseball for seven innings, but the Cleveland Indians finally got to him and Blake Wood with a five-run eighth as the Royals were unable to complete the sweep losing eventually 7-3.

The Indians scored the five runs with seven singles and a walk and they never really hit the ball all that hard. Despite Cleveland committing five errors, they still managed to win the game.

One of the three runs Mitch Albot gave up was unearned as the Royals had 10 hits including a 3 for 5 night for Alex Gordon. Wilson Betemit drove in two runs. Davies went 7.1 innings getting charged with three runs in the eighth. Up to that point, Davies was in command, allowing just four hits in the first seven innings.

Blake Wood who came on in relief took the loss going one-third of an inning and giving up two runs.
