Biden and other prominent Democrats are meeting at the Marriott Hotel in Union Station in St. Louis for the DNC summer meetings. Nixon, who is a Democrat, is optimistic St. Louis has a real chance to landing the national convention. St. Louis is competing with Cleveland and Charlotte to host the 2012 Democratic convention.

Nixon compares the possibility of hosting the national convention favorably with the St. Louis Cardinals hosting the All-Star Game last year and the Kansas City Royals hosting it in two years. He says such events showcase what Missouri has to offer.
