Journalist James Kilpatrick, a conservative columnist, newspaper editor and TV commentator, has died at the age of 89.

His wife, Marianne Means, also a journalist, announced that Kilpatrick died of congestive heart failure. Kilpatrick served as an editorial writer for the Richmond, Virginia News-Leader. He became a regular on 60 Minutes.
