It was back to a two-a-day practice on Monday following Sunday’s day off after the team’s first scrimmage on Saturday, which head coach Gary Pinkel said a lot of work was needed. After evaluations from that scrimmage, a new depth chart was released on Monday.

On offense, redshirt freshmen receiver L’Damian Washington moved ahead of sophomore Rolandis Woodland. Jayson Palmgren, a junior moved ahead of redshirt freshmen Justin Britt and left guard and Kendial Lawrence moves up to the number 2 tailback slot ahead of De’Vion Moore.

Opting not to have season ending surgery on his broken wrist, wide receiver Jerrell Jackson instead had a pin inserted into his wrist to keep it stable while he recovers. That won’t set him back any further than the four week timetable Coach Pinkel gave last week.

Back to the depth chart on the defensive side of the ball. Michael Sam, a redshirt freshmen moved up to number two behind Aldon Smith, the Big 12 freshmen defensive player of the year last season. Sam had an incredible scrimmage on Saturday with five sacks, a forced fumble and a 50 yard fumble recovery after he stripped the ball away from quarterback James Franklin.
