Former All-Pro wide receiver Isaac Bruce who spent the majority of his 16 years playing football with the Rams, will embark on his next journey in football by signing on as a coach for the Chicago Bears this training camp.

Apart of the NFL’s minority internship program, Bruce will work with Bears’ head coach Lovie Smith and offensive coordinator Mike Martz, and help out with the Bears wide receivers. Smith and Martz were on the Rams’ staff during a good chunk of Bruce’s career.

It was just two months ago that Bruce announced his retirement from playing in the NFL and the Bears called him right away.  Bruce was also contacted by a couple of other teams, but never heard anything from the Rams.  Bruce admitted that if they would have called, he would have jumped at the opportunity.  From the Rams’ standpoint, it was a sign of disrespect at all, but they had all of their internship positions filled.
