Two men who have not held public office before hope to go to Congress representing southwest Missouri. Springfield auctioneer Billy Long sold himself to enough Reublicans to beat two state senators and a former Greene County prosecutor Long is a businessman who says he thinks average people from the business community are the kinds of people who should be sent to Washington.
The Democrats have chosen Scott Eckersley. He is remembered as the whistleblower in the Matt Blunt administration who was fired after warning Blunt his e-mails were matters of public record.. He says hes the only candidate who has stood up and fought a winning fight against “big bad government.”
