The St. Louis Rams will hold the team’s second training camp under head coach Steve Spagnuolo at the Russell Training Center in Earth City. Rookies, quarterbacks and selected veterans will report to the Russell Training Center on July 28 and hold two practices on July 29 and a single practice on July 30.
The remainder of the team will report July 30 and the first full-squad practice will be held on July 31. The St. Louis Rams Bud Light Training Camp presented by Russell Athletic will feature 28 practices open to the public at the Russell Training Center and an open scrimmage at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. on Aug. 7. The Rams will open their preseason schedule at the Edward Jones Dome on Aug. 14 against the Minnesota Vikings . They’ll hit the road to face the Cleveland Browns on Aug. 21 before officially breaking camp with two practices on Tuesday, Aug. 24. The Rams will be in Foxborough, Mass. to take on the New England Patriots in a preseason contest on Aug. 26 and wrap up their preseaon slate on Sept. 2 when the Baltimore Ravens visit St. Louis.
Spagnuolo begins his second season with the Rams. In 2009, Spagnuolo established a solid foundation, a sound nucleus from which the team could build upon. “The inner-makings of this team, is a team, and that was one of the primary goals when we first started putting this thing together,” said Spagnuolo at the conclusion of last season.
The Rams will rely heavily on leaders like RB Steven Jackson, who in 2009 became the only player in team history to rush for 1,000 yards in five consecutive seasons, and LB James Laurinaitis, who made the most tackles as a rookie
in franchise history and became only the second rookie in team history to lead the team in tackles.
Several new faces are sure to make their mark on the Rams organization as well. In addition to 11 draft picks, St. Louis added seasoned veterans such as LBs Bobby Carpenter and Na’il Diggs, QB A.J. Feeley, C/G Hank Fraley, DT
Chris Hovan, S Kevin Payne and DT Fred Robbins this offseason. Fans are encouraged to come to the Russell Training Center and support the Rams during traning camp. Bleachers will be provided around the practice fields for fans to sit, and additional seating will be available on the hill near the fields. Official Rams’ merchandise and limited refreshments will be for sale. An autograph session will follow each open morning practice and the Lindenwood scrimmage, subject to change.
