Colby Rasmus and Skip Schumaker hit home runs and Blake Hawksworth pitched five plus innings for the win in a 5-3 final in favor of St. Louis over Kansas City Saturday afternoon at Kauffman Stadium.

Rasmus hit a three run homer in the fourth and Skip Schumaker a two run shot in the fifth off Royals’ starter Kyle Davies. Davies went seven innings as the Royals fell to 1-11 in Saturday games. He gave up five runs, four earned, and six hits. In four June starts, the right-hander is 0-3 with an 8.64 ERA.

The Royals put a dent in the Cards’ lead. Jose Guillen’s RBI single made it 5-3 in the eighth and extended his career-best hitting streak to 20 games, the longest by a Royals player since Rey Sanchez’s 21-game run in 2001.
